gigi

Hi Uncle Steve,

Lauren and I picked up a quick midweek lunch at gigi (stylized lowercase) in Midtown Miami. I'd call it an old standby, as we've been there before and love it, but we just don't go there enough.

To drink, we ordered the gigi spritzer, which is passion fruit juice with soda water. It was delicious. For condiments, the tables are decked out with sriracha, soy sauce, and a Japanese barbecue sauce.

We began with an order of cornbread served with maple bacon butter. I suspect the 'bacon' comes from rendered bacon fat, rather than any bacon meat included in the butter. It was very good.

Lauren had the pork buns, which are always reliable and delicious. I had the burger, which was good, though I was not a fan of the potatoes on the side.

For dessert, we had a soft serve cone of housemade pistachio soft serve ice cream. It was good.
